Sunday 18 December 2011 will be remembered as an important day in Pakistan’s history because Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) openly joined two banned terrorist organizations (Lashksar-e-Jhangvi and Lashkar-e-Taiba) in a pro-army rally clandestinely organized by Pakistani spy agency ISI.

On that day, a loose federation of Deobandi-Wahhabi religio-political organizations with known connections with Pakistan’s military establishment held a massive Difa-e-Pakistan rally (Defence of Pakistan Conference) to express support for Pakistan army and condemn “evil designs” of India, USA, Hindus, Ahmadis, Shias, Jews and the West in general.
Amongst others the rally was attended by the following radicalized Wahhabi/Salafi and Deobandi Jihado-sectarian groups: Jamiat Ahle-Hadith (Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer – Salafi/Wahhabi), Sipah-e-Sahaba /Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi – Deobandi), Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (Sami-ul-Haq – Deobandi), Jamaat-ud-Dawa/Lashkar-e-Taiba (Hafiz Muhammad Saeed – Salafi/Wahhabi), Jamaat-e-Islami (Liaquat Baloch – Deobandi), Inter Services Intelligence (General Hamid Gul – Salafi/Wahhabi) and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insasf (Imran Khan – Deobandi).
The conference was engineered by Pakistan Army / ISI in order to to pressurize the NATO and the USA and to mobilize Pakistan’s public opinion in support of Pakistan army. However, the conference was able to attract only a section of Deobandi and Wahhabi mullahs and madrassah students. The majority of Pakistan’s peaceful moderate Sunnis (Barelvis), Shias, Ahmadis, Christians etc did not participate in the conference.
Overall, the Difa-e-Pakistan Conference was a radicalized Deobandi-Wahhabi show of power on the behest of Pakistan army.
While Imran Khan could not attend the conference in person, his PTI workers participated in the conference and Imran Khan’s special message was read out on his behalf to the conference participants right before the Sipah-e-Sahaba leader Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi’s speech.

Imran Khan and PTI’s participation along with at least two banned terrorist organizations, Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP aka Lashkasr-e-Jhangvi LeJ) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT aka Jamat-ud-Dawa JuD), confirms his sectarian and jihadist tendencies. While many of his elitest urban followers are in denial about his links and ideological ties to banned Jihado-sectarian organizations, they should pay heed to the fact that this incident is not a one off and cannot be denied away with one-sentence sweeping non-rebutals. Here is another instance of PTI supporting a hate rally against the minority Ahmadi Muslims that took place earlier this year:

Quickly he moves from that to the Raymond Davis incident, saying that Muslims must also consider (in addition to theological issues) the very real dangers faced by poor people in Muslim societies today. Previously it has been documented that Imran Khan’s PTI and its various leaders (e.g. Vice President Ijaz Chaudhry) have close links with Sipah-e-Sahaba / Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Khatam-e-Nabuwat terrorists.

LAHORE – Sunday witnessed the rebirth of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) as thousands of flags and weapons-waiving, SSP activists participated in the procession at Minar-e-Pakistan, contrary to the claims of Jamat-ud-dawa that the procession was aimed at discussing the ‘defence’ of Pakistan. Whereas the cause of the procession was generally appreciated, even the participants raised their eyebrows at the presence of a banned organisation that has been accused of killing Shia Muslims inside the country. After its ban in 2002, Dafa-i-Pakistan Council’s Sunday rally was the first occasion on which the elements of SSP appeared on the scene and vowed their full support for the JD and their stance of ridding the country of the US.
Many religious clerics and madrassa students under the supervision of Almuhammadia Students Organisation of Pakistan were gathered on Sunday in the ground of Minar-e-Pakistan but the presence of members of banned organisation, armed was the main highlight of the evening. SSP’s activists accompanied JD workers on the city roads and encouraged people to attend the DPC’s rally. “It seems as if the government has lifted the ban from banned organisations. In the name of protesting against the NATO attacks, these organisations are being allowed to roam freely and this will lead to sectarian clashes,” said Zafer Ali, a student, adding that the government was making a mistake by allowing organisations like JD and SSP to function openly.
“Instead of giving a positive impression, clerics chose to call a banned organisation which came with weapons and flags. Even though the cause of the rally is a good one, but I smell danger because everyone will get the impression that the aim of the rally was to recruit terrorists,” said Usman, another citizen.
Members of the banned organisations were also seen tearing the billboards and posters of former dictator Pervaiz Musharraf at Nasir Bagh where a session was being held. They also raised slogans against him.
STUDENTS AVOID THE RALLY: Although a large number of madrassa students joined the procession at Minto Park, students of schools, colleges and universities abstained from it. According to sources, most students at the procession were forcefully brought from the religious madaris of Deoband, Ahl-e-hadis and Ahl-e-Sunat but the students from the universities and colleges could not be attracted. LAHORE: Announcing to hold public gatherings across the country, Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) has said that US must be told to steer clear of Pakistan as it (Pak) were not an easy prey, Geo News reported. During Council’s media briefing here in Lahore, Ameer Jamiat-e-Ulema Pakistan, Maulana Samaiulhaq said that US must refrain from attacking our sovereignty and recognize Pakistan as an atomic power just like India. Terming it a clash of civilizations Maulana Samiulhaq said that it was an armageddon between good and evil. Talking on the occasion Ameer Jamat-ud-Dawah, Hafiz Saeed said Nato’s attack on a Pakistani outpost in Mohmand was a dangerous message conveyed to Pakistan. – Chairman Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) an alliance of various religious parties Maulana Samiul Haq has said that all religious parties will guide the nation on national issues and they will hold Difa-e-Pakistan Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan on December 18. He was talking to media after presiding over a meeting held here at Jammia-e-Manzoorul Islamia. Jammiat-e-Ulama Islam (S) Chief Mulana Sami ul Haq presided over the meeting. JUI chief also endorsed the government decision to get vacate Shamsi airbase and block Nato supply route but stressed that government should withdraw all the logistic facilities provided to US forces. Maulana Samiul Haq also criticised government decision to make friendship with India and said that Pakistan was facing real threats from Eastern borders and we can not secure from Eastern borders. In response to a question he said Dafa-e-Pakistan Council would invite different political parties including PPP, PML-N, MQM, PTI leadership for Minar-e-Pakistan public gathering.

The Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) is violating rules issued by the district administration for the ‘Difa-i-Pakistan Conference’, which is to be held at Minar-i-Pakistan today in protest at “America and Nato’s terrorism”.
Banners and posters advertising the conference and flags of Lashkar-i-Taiba, an outfit thought responsible for the Mumbai terrorist attack of November 2008, have been put up around the city. The group has also set up reception camps. All of these actions are in violation of a code of conduct issued by the administration, according to an intelligence agency report. It said the code was being “violated openly, particularly regarding display of flags and posters of a proscribed organisation”.
The United Nations Security Council declared JD an alias of Lashkar-i-Taiba and banned it on December 10, 2008. The federal government announced a ban on the group in Pakistan the next day, though it later emerged during a hearing in the Lahore High Court that the ban had never been officially notified. The JD denies any links with LT, insisting that it is a charity organisation. The JD has regularly arranged rallies in Lahore in recent months with no resistance from the authorities.
According to the code of conduct for Sunday’s rally issued by the district administration, there must be no wall-chalking, banners, streamers, posters or flags advertising the conference in the city. This rule has been openly violated, most spectacularly by a massive banner on Chauburji, a historic building overseen by the Archaeology Department.
The code of conduct states that no reception desk be set up, and that the speakers at the rally must not say anything likely to incite hatred against any religious party or sect. No speeches against constitutional offices, the armed forces or the judiciary are allowed. “No banned, proscribed organisation or their members will be allowed to address the participants,” it states.
It also states that “disputed affairs” must not be “touched/discussed”. The code bans the public display of arms. Organisers are not allowed to make announcements concerning the conference via a van or other vehicle.
“No one will be forced to attend the public gathering. No shop or business activities will be closed forcibly. There shall be no political slogans/hooting of any political/religious party,” says the code.
According to the intelligence agency’s report, more than 15,000 chairs have been set up in Minar-i-Pakistan for the rally. JD spokesman Yahya Mujahid said the number of chairs for the rally was double the number placed there for the Tehreek-i-Insaf rally held at the same venue on October 30.
The intelligence report said that about 3,000 volunteers would be deployed at the venue for security. JD chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has said that a lot of people will participate in the conference.
In a press release issued earlier, organisers urged religious leaders to make contacts in mosques, schools and the streets to inform people about “American and Nato aggression” against Pakistan and to convince them to attend the rally.
Capital City Police Officer Ahmed Raza Tahir and Deputy Inspector General Ghulam Mehmood Dogar were asked to comment on the violation of the code of conduct for the rally, but did not reply to questions from this correspondent.

When I discussed with my friends they confirmed they also received such telephone recorded messages. Who has funded this grand advertisement through PTCL, nobody knows, but fingers are being raised towards iron hands behind the curtain.
One more thing, one of my friends from Germany, recently here, has stitched thousands of playboy shirts with Imran’s portraits that would be a big showdown in tomorrow’s rally. Things are getting clear every passing day.
Political analysis:
There was reason to hold in agencies iron grab two men involved in Farooq’s murder case – blackmail big time. MQM has been neutralized for Imran’s showdown tomorrow. Looks like the show would be a success.
Finally, my concerns regarding Imran Khan and his religious alignment comes to light. I have always thought of him as a taliban supporter. The foolish acts of PPP and PML-Q and their greedy politics have dragged those wanting a change to follow Imran Khan. But what will he bring? Another Zia and Nawaz Sharif in office? Imran Khan is another “baghair darhi wala Taliban”.
Please! for gods sake, go and waste your vote! There is no one in Pakistan to vote for. “Is hamaam mein sab nangay hain”, all are the same from the inside, some want power, some want money, some contest the elections to strengthen their cause. There is no one who really represents the people of Pakistan. “Sab apne apne matlab ke liye hain idhar”. They will rape Pakistan and leave and this cycle will continue. We are starved of Leaders, leaders who can actually bring a change and sadly Imran Khan is not one of those leaders.

بدھ یکم فروری کو جماعت الدعوہ کے سربراہ اور نوتشکیل دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل کے رہنما حافظ محمد سعید نے چند صحافیوں کو غیر رسمی ملاقات کے لیے مدعو کیا۔
اس کا مقصد دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل کے مقاصد کو آگے بڑھانے کے لیے ’صلاح مشورہ‘ کرنا تھا۔

کونسل میں جماعتِ الدعوہ (جسے اقوامِ متحدہ، امریکہ اور بھارت نے دہشت گرد تنظیموں کی فہرست میں شامل کررکھا ہے اور پاکستان میں بھی یہ سرکاری طور پر زیرِ نگرانی ہے) کے علاوہ جماعتِ اسلامی، مجلسِ احرار، اعجاز الحق کی مسلم لیگ (ضیا)، شیخ رشید احمد کی عوامی مسلم لیگ، آئی جے آئی اور مہران گیٹ سکینڈل فیم جنرل اسلم بیگ کی عوامی قیادت پارٹی، علامہ ابتسام الہی ظہیر کی جمعیتِ اہلِ حدیث اور اہلِ سنت والجماعت (عرف کالعدم سپاہِ صحابہ) شامل ہیں۔
دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل کے لاہور، راولپنڈی اور ملتان میں بڑے جلسے ہوچکے ہیں۔ لاہور کے جلسے میں عمران خان کی تحریکِ انصاف کی نمائندگی بھی ہوئی۔ جبکہ ملتان کے جلسے میں کالعدم لشکرِ جھنگوی کے رہنما ملک اسحاق نے بھی شرکت کی۔ اگلا جلسہ کراچی میں ہونے والا ہے۔
الفاظ کی تکرار
پورے سیشن میں دشمنی، لڑائی، سازش، جنگ، ایٹمی قوت، خطرہ، جہاد جیسے الفاظ تو تکرار کے ساتھ سننے میں آتے رہے تاہم افہام و تفہیم، امن، مساوی تعلقات، ترقی، خوشحالی، تعلیم، صحت، آئین و قانون، امن و امان، اندرونی خود مختاری جیسے الفاظ کو کان ترس گئے
دورانِ ملاقات حافظ سعید نےخیال ظاہر کیا کہ امریکہ اور بھارت پاکستان کا گھیراؤ کر کے اس کا گلا گھونٹنا چاہتے ہیں۔ امریکہ پاکستان کو واحد مسلمان ایٹمی طاقت ہونے کی سزا دینا چاہتا ہے۔ جبکہ بھارت تو پاکستان کا ازلی و ابدی دشمن ہے اور اب وہ کشمیر کے دریاؤں پر ’بہتر‘ ڈیم باندھ کے پاکستان کو سکھا سکھا کر مارنا چاہتا ہے اور پاکستان ہے کہ انڈیا کو موسٹ فیورڈ نیشن کا درجہ دے کر اس کے آگے بچھا چلا جارہا ہے۔
لہذا قوم کو ان خطرات سے مقابلے کے لیے جگانے اور کمر بستہ کرنے کی اشد ضرورت ہے اور دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل کا یہی مشن ہے۔ اس کے کوئی سیاسی و انتخابی عزائم نہیں۔
اس کے بعد دوطرفہ گفتگو کا سلسلہ شروع ہوا اور جلد ہی گفتگو سوال و جواب کے روایتی سیشن میں تبدیل ہوگئی۔ ایک صاحب نے تجویز دی کہ بھارت پر اگر آپ دباؤ ڈالنا چاہتے ہیں تو اس کا بہترین طریقہ یہ ہے کہ بھارت کے بیس کروڑ مسلمانوں کو منظم کیا جائے تاکہ وہ اپنے ملک کی پالیسیوں پر اثرانداز ہوسکیں۔
اس پر حافظ سعید نے کہا کہ بھارت کا مسلمان میڈیا دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل کے پروگرام اور جلسوں کو سراہتا ہے اور کوریج دے رہا ہے۔ (تاہم انہوں نے یہ نہیں بتایا کہ بھارت کا کون سا مسلمان میڈیا سراہ رہا ہے)۔
ایک رائے یہ آئی کہ بھارت اگر کشمیری دریاؤں پر بند باندھ رہا ہے تو مسئلہ کیا ہے۔ ان منصوبوں سے کشمیری مسلمانوں کو بھی تو فائدہ پہنچےگا۔
ایک سوال یہ آیا کہ دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل میمو گیٹ کے دوران تشکیل دی گئی۔ کیا زرداری حکومت کی رخصتی کی صورت میں بھی دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل برقرار رہے گی؟ ایک صاحب نے پوچھا کہ نائن الیون کے بعد پاکستان کو اگر امریکہ کی گود میں بٹھایا تو فوجی اسٹیبلشمنٹ نے بٹھایا اس وقت کوئی دفاعِ پاکستان کونسل کیوں نہیں بنی ؟
خطرات
پاکستان کو اندرونی سے زیادہ بیرونی خطرات درپیش ہیں۔ افغانستان سے مجوزہ امریکی انخلا کے باوجود جب تک پاکستان اور کشمیر کے بارے میں بھارتی پالیسیاں تبدیل نہیں ہوں گی پاکستان ایک سیکورٹی سٹیٹ ہی رہے گا۔ خطے کے حالات کے سبب اس کا فلاحی ریاست بننا فی الحال ممکن نہیں۔ ہندوستان کو موسٹ فیورڈ نیشن کا درجہ اگر دیا گیا تو اس کا مطلب ہے کہ فوج کی رضامندی بھی شامل ہے جو کہ افسوسناک بات ہوگی۔
ایک سوال یہ ہوا کہ پاکستان کے تحفظ کی ذمہ داری مسلح افواج پر عائد ہوتی ہے چنانچہ دفاع ِ پاکستان کونسل کی ضرورت کیوں پیش آگئی۔ کیا آپ کو مسلح افواج کی اہلیت پر اعتماد نہیں رہا؟
حافظ سعید کچھ سوالوں کے جواب میں مسکرادیے، کچھ خوبصورتی سے ٹال گئے اور کچھ کے بارے میں کہا کہ ہر شے بدظنی اور شکوک و شبہات کی عینک سے نہیں دیکھنی چاہیے۔
