Heavenly Kingdom Ministry will launch protest against Blasphemy law -by Pastor Robin Rahim

2012 has gone and 2013 has started. In all world people have new plans in start of the year. But for Christians of Pakistan it is just one more year with more worst things. If we see circumstances of Pakistan then it looks like that nothing will change for Christians of Pakistan and this year will more worst and we have to continue to sacrifice our lives and suffer because of blasphemy. But we have hope in our God that 2013 will bring change. We will not stop our fight against this law until we don’t get justice till we and our children could have secure life and bright future in Pakistan.

In 2012, In blasphemy law 23 cases have been registered and many cases have been reported against Christians. The year before Shahbaz Bhatti and Salman Taseer has sacrificed their lives and 2013 our beloved sister Bargitta lost her life. On August 16, Rimshah Masih aged 10-14 was accused of committing a blasphemous by a religious cleric. He said that she has burnt the pages where Koran versus was written. Then police took her in custody. After protest by rights organizations and abroad, Pakistan court have to release her from custody. As many extremists were against this decision. As she is still not secure in Pakistan. But Asia Bibi has not luck like Rimshah have. Bibi is still in prison. She got in custody in 2010. Whoever support to Asia Bibi, they were killed by Islamists extremists. As we see the murder of Salman Taseer who was murdered by his body guard Mumtaz Qadri and he clearly said that he killed him because he was supporting to that women who was blasphemer. And same thing have to bear Shahbaz Bhatti who was Pakistan former minister for minority affairs. One of Muslim cleric from Peshawar has announced that whoever will kill Asia Bibi, he will be awarded by Rs. 500,000 because she is blasphemer. On 10th November 2012, Pastor Kamran Patrus was teaching from Bible to Christian family. Some people caught him and beat him because they thought that he said something against Islam. Police caught him and put him in jail accordingly Blasphemy law and didn’t accept his bail. I know him personally. God has given him gift of teaching which he was using very nicely in Christian people. He is innocent person and humble personality. There are many people are like this in jail and many families are suffering because of this. Now time has come that we should take stand as enough blood has been shed and almost all world know about the situation of Christians of Pakistan but Government of Pakistan is still silence on that. Pakistani Christians lives are not secure in Pakistan. There’s no plan for them to have secure lives.

The Government of Pakistan did amendment in many constitution but they don’t want to do anything on Blasphemy laws. We just see few days before as Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri asked people to come together for protest for their rights and about 50,000 people become together from lower middle class for a sit in Main Jinnah Avenue of Islamabad. There were children, women and men even it was so winter weather. They were succeed in winning the attention of Pakistani Government and Government has to accept their demands. This is a example for us to all Christians that if all other parties, group and organization can put their heads together on the solution then why don’t we sit together for our rights? Why don’t we stand together for our fundamental rights. This is time now that we should define our role and come out from houses till we and our children could have better and secure life in Pakistan.

We need to be unite for get freedom from this law. Me Pastor Robin as Vice Chairman of Heavenly Kingdom Ministry and my church has decided to raise voice against this law. I announce that we will launch protest against Blasphemy law on 24th Feb,213 at Lahore Press Club. I would like to invite every Christians to come together on that day with us and fight for your rights for to have secure and peaceful life in Pakistan. I will also request that please keep this day in your prayers.
